MALCOLM A R LLEWELLYN OBE - Cement Industry Expert
Malcolm Llewellyn is a cement industry expert with an extensive track record in the construction and management of cement plants around the world over a period of four decades.
Malcolm has managed upwards of 18 different operations - including positions as General Manager and CEO with Blue Chip international companies - across the UK, Africa and Asia. In addition to his work in the cement industry, he has experience in shipping, contract negotiating and financing. He also set up a light transport business for which he raised venture capital in the UK.
Malcolm has complemented his National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering with finance courses and an Executive Program at the London Business School. The combination of his wide-ranging experience with his personal communication skills has enabled him to successfully chair the British Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia whilst also running a new cement plant project.
In 2010, he was awarded an OBE for his services to British business in Indonesia
Dr KEN KEMSLEY - Cement Technology Specialist:
Dr. Kemsley, a Fellow of the Institute of Chemical Engineers and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry is a renowned expert in cement technology. His 35 years experience in the cement industry in research and / or on operational plants around the world has given him extensive experience and knowledge of the fuels and operations of many types of kilns. His experience in Indonesia includes five years at Semen Andalas as Technical manager and lead researcher on a Government study into greenhouse gas emissions in the cement industry. He has also held senior posts with Lafarge and Blue Circle in Africa and Asia; his position with Lafarge as training manger compliments his hands on experiences.
MICHAEL HANNAH BSc [Hons], MSc, MCSM - Senior Geologist
Mike Hannah is a freelance engineer/geologist, experienced in the exploration, evaluation and extraction of gypsum, cement raw materials, base metals and gold from various projects in Europe, Africa and South East Asia. He has also been involved in the evaluation and management of land fill cell sites in the UK.
Mike obtained a BSc [Hons] in Applied Geology from the University of Plymouth and supplemented his initial training with an MSc in Mining Geology from the Camborne School of Mines. He is also highly computer literate with an understanding of DOS, Windows and the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
He has undertaken several projects in Indonesia including as manager of the Quality Control Department for a major dam construction project in South Sulawesi and currently as advisor to a major mining company on the geological aspects of exploration and extraction of cement raw materials in West Papua. Mike is moderately proficient in the Indonesian language
